The Crossroads has an odd history. By all rights, there shouldn't even be a town where it stands. There are no rivers, lakes, or even streams to support the settlement; the land is rough and hostile to farm; and there are no natural defenses as the town sits smack dab in the middle of open plains. Just about everything the town needs outside of well-water and some sparse vegetation is carried in on one of the many visiting merchant carts.
The sole reason The Crossroads still stands is that it happens to be located in the exact geographical center amidst four major cities: Baldur's Gate to the South-West, Elturel to the South-East, Soubar to the North-East, and Daggerford to the North-West. The Crossroads, put bluntly, exists only because traders meet and trade their goods halfway and thus, a town of necessity was born.
You will start as a hired mercenary for a wholesale herb trader on the way from Baldur's Gate to The Crossroads. Though you know someone who recently settled in the town, this would be your first time to The Crossroads. The roads are said to be dangerous, but the pay seemed good enough...
Make a first level Pathfinder 2nd Edition character. The recommended tool is Pathbuilder.
The following are instructions with pictures to best use Pathbuilder. (It's also suggested you spend $6 and register for lifetime premium so you can get access to all features!)
All Common options are okay, Uncommon are (usually) okay but the GM may need to veto, and Rare options are only available with permission.
Please note that while every class/ancestry outside of the Remastered content is available to you (except the Gunslinger and Inventor from Guns & Gears), if you choose a non-Remastered class, ancestry, spell, etc. and it is updated when the Player Core 2 is slated to publish, your character will experience a little "blip" as they and any items, spells, etc. are updated to any new rulings. This shouldn't cause any major issues, but choosing anything outside of the Player Core 1 comes with this risk. Ye be appropriately warned.
The easiest way to start your journey is to think of a character concept. This could come from a role you want to play in the party (e.g. healer, support, ranged attacker); a character in media you're inspired by (but please don't actually build -that- character, make it your own!); or a mechanic you want to play with (e.g. elemental magic, turning into a beast, attacking from the shadows, or even playing a character that does no direct damage). There are lots of ways to build your character and if want to bounce off some ideas or need help/suggestions, feel free to contact the DM.
FINALLY, your character's name must start with a different letter than any other player.
