Welcome to The Crossroads

The Crossroads has an odd history. By all rights, there shouldn't even be a town where it stands. There are no rivers, lakes, or even streams to support the settlement; the land is rough and hostile to farm; and there are no natural defenses as the town sits smack dab in the middle of open plains. Just about everything the town needs outside of well-water and some sparse vegetation is carried in on one of the many visiting merchant carts.

The sole reason The Crossroads still stands is that it happens to be located in the exact geographical center amidst four major cities: Baldur's Gate to the South-West, Elturel to the South-East, Soubar to the North-East, and Daggerford to the North-West. The Crossroads, put bluntly, exists only because traders meet and trade their goods halfway and thus, a town of necessity was born.
